Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
Washington state law defines "consumer health data" broadly, including some information related to health conditions. This page explains, separately from our general Privacy Policy, how we handle that narrow category of information.
What we collect
We do not have a form field that asks about allergies, health conditions, or dietary restrictions. Our Contact and Catering forms do have an open message field, and our FAQ invites guests to mention allergies, spice preferences, or dietary needs there so we can accommodate them. If you choose to share that kind of detail with us, it may qualify as consumer health data under Washington law.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use anything you tell us about an allergy or dietary need for one reason only: to prepare your food or plan your catering order safely and the way you asked. We do not use it for advertising, do not build a profile from it, and do not use it for any purpose beyond fulfilling your specific request.
Who sees it
Your message passes through a form delivery service to reach our inbox, and is seen by restaurant staff who need it to prepare your order or event. We do not sell this information, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any other outside party.
How long we keep it
We keep it only as long as needed to prepare your order or event, and for a short time after in case you follow up about the same visit or catering date.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Confirm whether we have any health-related detail you shared with us
- Show you what we have
- Delete it
- Withdraw your consent for us to keep using it going forward
To do any of these, email contact@whynotmyasian.com or call (509) 426-2118. If you would rather not share an allergy or dietary detail through this website at all, call us instead and we will note it directly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
